This a true story of my friend which depicts the pitfall buying Lenovo laptop.
I brought a Lenovo 3000N200 series Laptop one year back, exactly 21’st Feb 2008 from Dubai Shopping festival for Rs 35, 000. I was very satisfied with their product initially, as it is cost effective with good performance. But after 3 months of working my laptop charger burnt out. I called up the customer care (18004252666) asking for the replacement and they said because it is burnt, they can’t replace it. For me, living without laptop and internet is worst thing in my life.

This post by Kenney Jacob is what made me write this post. Last month, some activists from the lesser known Hindu group Sri Ram Sena attacked women in pubs in Mangalore. It was ridiculous to see these bunch of cowards beating up helpless women in pubs. To say the least, that video made me feel sick, disgusted, helpless and mad. Even after being released on bail, the leader of the Ram Sena, Pramod Muthalik has said that he and his gang of buffoons will make sure the valentine’s day party in the city is messed up.
Having given this incident a fair thought, I can’t come to a conclusion on the reason behind this attack. Is it for the media space? Is it an job preview to the various political parties of the nation like ‘Who wants to hire us as goons?’. I am not well educated in Vedas and other Hindu literature, but I don’t think that it is specified anywhere that it is a sin for women to enter pubs. Even it is a mentioned somewhere, isn’t hurting women a greater sin? The attack was a shame on the entire male community.
One thing is sure that come Feb 14, all pub owners will be ready with their own brand of ‘bouncers’ to fight the Ram Sena and like. But it is the common couples on the street, who go for a small trip, have dinner out and return, that will be on the line of attack. Shouldn’t we form a counter body to kick the ass of these fools?
This Valentine’s Day these bunch of ball-less cowards are trying to spoil parties. One thing I can’t stand is to justify one’s blatant stupid unjustifiable actions under the banner of God’s name. Sri Ram is considered as the ideal man by most Hindus. He never touched another lady other than his wife Sita. He respected women. But these gutless idiots are doing the exact opposite and don’t even regret their actions.
It is time the Indian government stood up and banned such extremist groups. Aren’t their actions on the same track as the terrorist organisations?

Let me brief on what led me to this post. I was discussing about campus blogging with a school teacher. I was telling him the scope, role and influence of campus blogging which I had felt or seen the impact on others. After I went on explaining for nearly 10 minutes, the teacher gives me a reply – “We cannot encourage students to use internet now. They can use it once they join college but if we stress it now, it may mislead them. They will start chatting, one thing will lead to another and so on.” That was that and I didn’t extend the conversation. What I have to say on this matter is simple. The teacher is talking bull shit.
I am someone of the strong opinion that Internet should occupy an entire lesson of the Computer Science text book of Fifth graders. You can ask me why? It was clear to me that the teacher was referring to students coming across porno stuff. One thing is for sure, preventing internet access will not keep adult stuff away children. Some way or the other, they will come across it. Instead, we could show them some constructive uses of the internet (blogging for example) which will at least shield them from becoming addicted to internet porn.
The term ‘Chatting’ is being interpreted in a bad twisted unhealthy manner mostly by internet ignorant teachers and parents. I know quite a few parents who never allowed the children to go to internet cafes siting the reason of chatting.
I have said this time and again, ‘Human Brain CANNOT process NEGATIVE commands’. So naturally, the further the child is kept away from internet, the more he craves for it. This is what makes internet dangerous. To avoid this kind of a situation, one should encourage and inform the students more about internet, its features. Show them something constructive and we can see internet misuse come down by a huge margin.
