This is the scene outside one of Kollam’s biggest theaters. For those who don’t follow Malayalam, the board reads – “Due to faulty compressor, the AC doesn’t work today”. I am not talking about the air conditoner alone. The broken seats, the bug ridden seat handles, the dingy smell and in some theaters, I have seen cats waling between rows of seats.
With more than 75% films releasing a year turning out to be duds, we are in a time when family audience are staying out of theaters, waiting for the movie verdict and then opting to wait till the movie comes out in DVD. When Malayalam cinema is in such a mess, shouldn’t the exhibitors do better than this? After all, they raise the ticket charge every year.
These shots are from the location of my short film. It is a run down theater in Adoor.

The tigers are one of the most royal and powerful species of animals in the world. Personally, they are my favourite. I received an e-mail from my friend with these pictures of the Sumatran Tiger.
The Sumatran tiger is the smallest of all still existing tiger subspecies. Male Sumatran tigers average 234 cm (7 feet, 8 inches) in length from head to tail and weigh about 136 kg (300 pounds). Females average 198 cm (6 feet, 6 inches) in length and weigh about 91 kg (200 pounds). Its stripes are narrower than other subspecies of tigers’ stripes, and it has a more bearded and maned appearance, especially the males. Its small size makes it easier to move through dense rain forests. It has webbing between its toes that, when spread, makes Sumatran tigers very fast swimmers. It has been known to drive hoofed prey into the water, especially if the prey animal is a slow swimmer.

Dasavatharam is a movie which has received mixed reviews sincce its release. many people told me that the movie was a waste. But personally I liked the movie. Kamal Hassan was at his best. I liked the movie so much because the screenplay is brilliant and the technical and graphical perfection is peerless. I liked the wasy in which Kamal Hassan weaves the chaos theory and butterfly effect into the story and how different roles of himself help Govind escape from cops and the villain Fletzer.
I happened to come accross the pictures of each charecter and so I modified it a bit and am sharing it here.
